eagle-i RF Consulting, owned by Scarlet M. Daoud, came into existence November 2018.
Summary: Scarlet Daoud brings 25 years of diverse combined engineering and teaching experience in radio frequency (RF) and wireless technology from distinct industries including academia. Her specialization is RF/Microwave (high frequency) integrated circuit design (MMIC GaAs Technology) and wireless products, with subject matter expertise in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi. Scarlet worked in diverse industry fields over the years including semiconductors (high frequency military applications) and automotive/machinery electronics. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Bradley University.
Present: Scarlet is currently an associate at Shastry Associates Global Enterprise (SAGE, website under development) in addition to being self-employed through Eagle-i RF Consulting. She also works as an Affiliate Instructor (Professor) at Bradley University in addition to other consulting roles with the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Bradley.
Her current personal RF engineering projects include two major endeavors:
The first one is co-authoring an engineering text/reference book on high frequency integrated circuits along side her colleague Professor Prasad Shastry from Bradley University. The book will be titled, Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits: Fundamentals, Design, and Technology.
The second one is research and development on the benefits of sound and light waves to the human body as a result of past health issues and alternative therapy treatments that included electromagnetic (frequency/sound/light) healing modalities. This research and development is a foundation for creating a device that will be able to play sound/music and display light/colors that will promote health without emitting harmful radiation.
Scarlet will also be enrolling in an online course this summer to become a Certified EMF Expert. This will expand her consultation services to include testing for unwanted and potentially harmful EMF and RF energy in residences and other premises and recommending EMF and RF Shielding tools and solutions to help reduce exposure to the harmful energy fields.
Past: In addition to the humble beginnings that every engineer experiences the first couple of years of their professional career, Scarlet worked in the semiconductor industry at ViaSat, Inc. (Advanced Microwave Products) for about 10 years taking on various roles and responsibilities such as project technical lead, designing and testing various challenging GaAs MMICs ranging from PAs and LNAs to Attenuators and Phase Shifters, including multi-functionality GaAs MMICs and Modules.
Later Scarlet joined Caterpillar and took on various roles and responsibilities as well, ranging from systems engineering to information hardware platform/technical engineer. As hardware platform/technical lead, Scarlet lead NPI (New Product Introduction) projects for wireless products from conception to production using BLE and Wi-Fi technologies.
